La Judería de Praga se fue conformando durante un periodo de casi siete siglos de presencia de población judía en este territorio. Si bien, durante la remodelación urbanística de la aljama denominada “Saneamiento”, las primitivas callejuelas medievales desaparecieron para no volver, se pudieron conservar algunos de los más preciados monumentos y, hoy por hoy, representa el segundo mayor museo judaico del mundo, que milagrosamente sobrevivió a la II Guerra Mundial. La sinagoga de la antigua aljama objeto de mayor atención, que aún después de más de siete siglos de existencia sigue siendo un lugar donde se celebran servicios religiosos, es la sinagoga Vieja-Nueva, encarnación de un espacio sacro casi palpable. Una parada que uno no puede saltarse durante la visita a la judería es el Antiguo Cementerio Judío, afamado por los expresivos símbolos que decoran las laudas funerarias. Hay otras cuatro sinagogas que hoy en día funcionan como salas de exposición de las ricas colecciones del Museo Judío, que presentan de forma didáctica en toda su complejidad distintos aspectos del judaísmo (la vida cotidiana, las fiestas, la historia de la población judía en estas tierras, objetos litúrgicos).

The Old New Synagogue represents the most remarkable synagogue of the former ghetto and services still take place there. Its Gothic-Renaissance interior remained practically intact – a fact that gives the visitor unparalleled feeling of numinosity and peculiarity. When visiting the former ghetto, going to see the Old Jewish Cemetery is a must. It is famous for its picturesque and meaningful symbols on tombstones.There are four other synagogues in this quarter, which nowadays host the incredibly rich collections of the Jewish Museum. Its items give a comprehensive account of different aspects of Judaism (everyday life, holidays, history of Jewish people in our country, sacral objects).

La visita del barrio Judío con el guía privado licenciado comprende: Sinagoga de Maisel (interior y exposición), sinagoga de los Pinkas (dedicada a las víctimas de la Shoá, interiores), cementerio Judío, sala de ceremonias de la Hermandad Funeraria (interior y exposición), sinagoga Klaus (interior y exposición), antiguo Ayuntamiento Judío (exterior), escultura de Moisés, obra de F. Bílek, sinagoga Española (lugar de celebración de servicios religiosos, interiores y exposición), sinagoga Vieja-Nueva (lugar de celebración de servicios religiosos; la visita de su interior complementa el recorrido principal), escultura en memoria de Franz Kafka, obra de J. Róna.

 THE JEWISH GHETTO

The Jewish Ghetto tour includes:

Maisel synagogue (interior and exhibitions) – Pinkas synagogue (dedicated do Shoah victims, drawings of the children who perished in the concentration camps, interior) – Old Jewish Cemetery – The Ceremonial Hall (interior and exhibitions) – Klaus synagogue (interior and exhibitions) – Old Town hall (only from the outside) – The statue of Moses created by sculptor Bílek (outside) – Spanish synagogue (place of service, interior and exhibitions) – Old New Synagogue (place of service, visiting the interior of this synagogue is part of the main tour) – Statue of Franz Kafka created by sculptor Róna.

The listed rate is a price per HOUR OF GUIDE SERVICE FOR THE GIVEN NUMBER OF PERSONS. Yours will be a private tour, so these would only be the number of people you travel with and for whom you order. We most often structure Prague tours into ½ day blocks (3-4 hours each). To get your expected total tour price, multiply the hourly rate by the number of hours. You will then pay for the actual number of hours guided during your tour.
